The change they made (and announced) was to line with a different (BPA-free) lining material. The Sigg company now also makes a stainless steel bottle under the name “Steelworks.” Like the Klean Kanteen, it is made with food-grade stainless steel (18/8).

I saw that Sigg has “tablets” but like you – I already paid a lot of $$$ for the damn bottle, so didn’t want to spend more $$$ just to clean it!
If you ever look to get a new bottle, def look into Klean Kanteen. So far I’m totally smitten!!

They do sell these tablets to clean them ( and a brush) but I already paid a hefty $$ for the bottle itself.
