Even though my parents have a classic French gourmet food shop, occasionally my mom will carry a handful of specialty items that she feels are special.
Mode De Vie is the only line of body products that June & Ho carries. Clearly, it’s Momma Park-endorsed.
Headquartered in Canada, this company specializes in all things Shea Butter! Mode De Vie uses the highest percentage of organic Shea Butter possible as its major ingredient, imported directly from Africa.
The main reason I’m obsessed with this Mode de Vie: it’s one of the ONLY brands I’ve found that makes 100% PURE Liquid Shea Butter. This is my fave product from them:

As you can see…it’s 100% Liquid Shea Butter. Nothing more, nothing less.
Mode de Vie uses a unique, low temperature crystallization from selected shea butter. This Karite Oil contains 9% unsaponifiable lipids which help to nourish the skin and hair.
I just use a few drops for legs, body and arms. Sometimes, when I don’t feel like carrying an additional moisturizer, I’ll just use 1 drop for my face too. Maybe because it’s 100% Shea Butter, it seems to absorb very well into the skin and instantly makes skin soft & supple.
Best part: in addition to Unscented, Karit’oil comes in the following scents (essential oils):
- Vanilla
- Sandalwood
- Lavender
- Mint
- Grapefruit
- Coconut
Mode de Vie also carries great Lip Balms, Body Lotions, Hair products and other body creams…all based in their strong Shea Butter heritage!

Shea butter originates from the Karite Nut tree (or Mangifolia tree) of the semi-arid savannahs of West Africa. The women of West Africa have been making and using shea butter for centuries. The Karite Nut tree can live for over 300 years and is found only in the wild. Our Shea Butter is harvested directly from these trees by local women and is certified as a purely organic product.
The Shea Tree grows spontaneously in the wooded savannahs in West Africa (Mali and Burkina Fasso) on balanced and well drained soils. The tree is stout, can grow up to 20m high and its trunk can reach 1m in diameter. It produces its first fruit when it is about 25 years old and reaches its full production at the age of 40 or 50. The Shea Tree produces a fruit in the form of large plums (3 to 6 cm). Their pericap is edible and they contain 1 to 3 seeds surrounded by a thin brittle hull. Their two thick cotyledons contain about 50 % of a fatty substance. One tree produces 15 to 20 kgs of fresh fruit, which yield to 3 to 4 kgs kernels.
