After seeing a picture of a rhinestone gradation in an issue of Nail Venus, I decided to re-vamp my NYFW nail design idea, and go BLING!
I’m not really a PINK girl, so I was hoping to do this with Black & Grey rhinestones. Unfortunately, there were some issues with doing this:
- Sakura doesn’t have Black & Grey Rhinestones
- Even if they did have them, I didn’t want to spend $1 per stone to get my blinged look.
So, on a sunny NYC Saturday, I went to the Garment District to search for rhinestones. First trimmings place I hit up, only had huge ones – like for BeDazzling a sweatshirt.
Luckily, the second place had TONS! I stumbled upon Trims de Carnival, a trimmings & notions store in the Garment District.
Any trimming desire, this place has! Including my much sought-after nail bling in all different shades & sizes:

- 150 rhinestones for $8.50
It was perfect! I made out with varying shades of grey, black and clear rhinestones.
If you’re like me, and obsessed with Nail Bling, this is a great way to get your bling on & still save a little bit of moolah!
I definitely need to buy some rhinestones. Good place to get it.
I went there twice. On a Saturday and on a Monday and they were closed. I end up walking around and found Lavaliere which have rhinestones for 144 rhinestones for $5.80 or more depending on color/size.

I called Trims de Carnival and realize they close very early. They close at 5:30 on weekday and 5 on Saturday. That’s so early!
