I always love things that LAST. The last thing I want to do in the middle of the day is sit and touch up my makeup. Thus, my love of MAC Liquidlast.
So MAC Pigments are no exception. Pigments are basically small jars of highly concentrated loose colour powder, that adheres to the skin. They come in an array of finishes and shades, and you can create whatever effect you want: a wash of colour, or a dramatic hue.
MAC PRO has an extended line of pigments than the regular MAC store offerings. Today, I decided to try Green Brown Pigment.
According to MACPRO.com, it’s a deep brown with frosted green/blue reflection. Here’s how it looks:

It has this fantastic opalescent effect, where it reflects green from one angle and brown from the other:

Being this was the first time I tried this shade, I just did a wash of the pigment all over my lid. I think with my NC30 Asian skintone, the effect was more of a shimmery “khaki”.

(Sorry, I’m still getting used to this digital camera – I miss the days of manual settings. *sigh*)
I’ve been feeling really lazy with makeup these days, given the life circumstances, so I just used the standards for the rest of the face:
- MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 in NC 30
- MAC Powerpoint Eyepencil in Engraved
- MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Petticoat
- MAC Lipglass in Love Nectar

My verdict: maybe MAC Green Brown Pigment isn’t for me. Although it looks fabulous in the jar, on my particular coloring, it looks a bit normal. And I want FABULOUS!! LOL.
So I gave the jar to my co-worker @erinmccaffrey, who was immediately obsessed with it! She’s a NW20. She had a long sorted affair with MAC Old Gold Pigment – and Green Brown is very similar to Old Gold. It’s like Old Gold with more brown!
Green brown doesn’t work for me either! It’s soooo pretty though so I was bummed when it looked blah on me. It’s a really pretty neutral on your coloring though! I work for Mac and I met your friend Gina a couple weeks ago when she came to Lubbock for our event. I’m a PR major about to graduate and you have my dream job so gina said I could learn from you if I started following you on twitter!
have a great day!
